When it comes to proper hydration you must maintain 15 to 20 ounces before a workout. Then 15 minutes before you begin, drink between 8-10 ounces of water. Followed by during a workout regiment, you should drink another 8 ounces every 15 minutes to maintain adequately hydrated. Remember your body and muscles are mostly made of water so for proper exercise proper hydration needs to be maintained at all time. During the regiment if adequate hydration is not maintained fatigue may occur. As well as muscle cramps can be caused from dehydration. If properly hydrated the heart does not need to pump as much blood to the entire body and all oxygen and nutrients can be transported throughout the body and the muscles you are working during your exercise program more effectively.
